To produce quality communication via phone or in writing to regulatory bodies, Office of the Peoples Councils, Better Business Bureau and the general public regarding company policy, practices, regulatory specifications and consumer obligations as it pertains to the transmission, distribution, service, consumption, and payment of electric service.
Experience demonstrating a working knowledge of billing rate structures, billing codes and how to read a customer's bills sufficient to explain charges and other information contained on the bill.
Experience demonstrating knowledge and understanding of credit and collection practices and procedures.
Experience demonstrating a working knowledge of customer information systems, sufficient to access different screens/fields to review information and make adjustments as needed.
Experience demonstrating skill handling inquiries from various individuals (e.g., customers, executives, agencies, etc.) in a customer contact environment.
Experience demonstrating knowledge of basic meter functions and how to read meters.
Experience demonstrating skill handling multiple detailed tasks simultaneously.
Experience demonstrating skill communicating clearly and concisely orally and in writing (for example, talking with customers/regulatory agencies, crafting a letter to a customer to explain results of an investigation).
Experience demonstrating skill performing mathematical computations and using pre-established formulas to calculate figures (specifically, sufficient to compute daily averages and percentage increases/decreases in usage).
Experience demonstrating skill using PC-based word processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail software, and the Internet.
Ability and willingness to work extended shifts, weekends and 24 hour emergency call-out with little or no prior notice.
Ability and willingness to travel to various locations.
Ability and willingness to operate a Company vehicle and adhere to Company safety standards.
Must successfully pass qualification test.
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must successfully pass the Criminal History Records Check
Experience demonstrating knowledge of complaint investigative techniques and resources sufficient to thoroughly and completely investigate customer complaints.
Experience demonstrating knowledge of Pepco-specific information including Pepco's programs (for example, Average Payment Program, Time of Use, USPP, TPA, PAT, etc.); RG Schedule; Meter History System.
Experience demonstrating skill summarizing large amounts of information clearly and accurately in written form for an executive's signature.
Experience demonstrating knowledge of Pepco Tariffs, the Maryland Code of Regulations (COMAR), and Washington D.C. Consumer Bill of Rights.
