Hal Kamine is the Chairman and Owner of GettingHired, was the Founder and Chairman
of the Board of KMC Telecom (KMC), and is CEO and Owner of Kamine Development Corp.
(KDC).
Hal's successful background in the power business (KDC) coupled with a strong entrepreneurial
spirit helped bridge his vision of creating a telecom company (KMC) that brought
state of the art fiber optic communication technology to underserved markets and
cities in the United States. Hal now has two new visions; one is GettingHired which
has the mission to develop a national disabled job board including 501 compliance
and behavioral assessments in an effort to improve the hiring process for people
with disabilities and the companies that wish to hire them. Second, Hal is moving
KDC aggressively into the renewable energy arena with his first project being a
$250mil, 120mgy ethanol facility in Kansas.

From 1980 through 2000; as CEO and Owner of Kamine Development Corp. (KDC); Hal
developed, built, and owned seven unregulated non-utility power generation projects
located in New York and New Jersey; totaling approximately 600 MW and costing approximately
$800 Mil. Hal pioneered the independent power business from its inception in the
early 1980's until 1998. By 1998, he was one of the industry leaders who negotiated
a settlement with Niagara Mohawk which resulted in the sale of all of his New York
State power projects which yielded this country's largest voluntary utility/independent
power producer restructuring. Since Hal was deeply involved in the deregulation
of the electric as well as the natural gas industries, he saw very early on the
strong eventuality of deregulation coming to the telecommunications industry.
KMC was formed in 1995 and began as an emerging CLEC prior to the Telecom Act. With
the passage of this act it now opened an even greater opportunity for Hal's vision
of a unique telecom company customizing services to its customers to be truly realized
through an open and competitive marketplace. His strategy was to devise a telecom
business formula for the tier 3 market niche. At its peak, KMC deployed over $2
Billion in capital, had over 1500 employees and revenues of approximately $600 Mil/year.
KMC became one of the country's largest independent CLECs before it was sold in
2005.
In 2004, Hal backed a graduate from his alma mater; Lafayette College; and started
what is now GettingHired.
In 2007, Hal began seeing the same opportunity in the renewable energy area that
he saw in the Power Generation business in 1980, and brought back many of the original
KDC management to pursue this new venture, along with his son, Matt, a recent Lafayette
engineering graduate.
