Responsibilities: Principal responsibility for management of assigned cases, including formation of litigation team, formulation of litigation strategy, oversight of all litigation activities, marshalling of internal facts, review and editing of all written advocacy, preparation of outside counsel for oral argument and trial, and in all other ways exercising primary responsibility for representation of Microsoft. The responsibilities of the position include frequent and regular communication with outside counsel, with other law department attorneys and outside counsel, paralegals and staff, and with Microsoft employees and executives.
Qualifications: *A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated work experience in general litigation, including first chair responsibility in some cases and some trial experience. *Significant responsibility in at least two patent cases preferred. *A demonstrated ability to direct creatively and effectively the defense of a sophisticated client in complex litigation. *Knowledge and understanding of trial presentation techniques. *JD from an ABA accredited law school, and outstanding academic credentials. *Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
