BR br/ br/ The Staff Engineer will be an important member of the Biologics manufacturing facility at the Elkton, VA site, where Gardasil is currently manufactured and therapeutic protein products will be demonstrated. The position will be a part of the IPT (Integrated Process Team) technical support group, with responsibility for technical support of the manufacturing area. The initial assignment will be in support of the HPV fermentation process and the dispense area. br/ br/ Typical routine responsibilities of an IPT Engineer are demonstration of process improvements, monitoring process performance, investigating atypicals and implementing corrective actions, creating standard work for operations, and assisting in troubleshooting. Day-to-day technical support for the biologics manufacturing area involves assignments related to quality, safety, environmental, and operating cost goals across the fermentation, purification, adjuvant and sterile supply/dispensing areas. Frequent equipment and process related projects will also be required. br/ br/ This position may be required to work some shift work on a periodic basis. br/ br/ B Required: /b br/ br/ Bachelor degree in Engineering or Science field br/ br/ 2 years experience in an engineering or operations position supporting a manufacturing process through one or more of the following roles: process improvements, monitoring process performance, investigating atypicals and implementing corrective actions, creating standard work for operations, and assisting in troubleshooting of the process. br/ br/ Preferred: br/ br/ Experience with technical support of a GMP (good manufacturing practices) manufacturing process br/ br/ BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemistry/Biochemistry br/ br/ Experience in bioprocess manufacturing br/ br/ Experience with fermentation and/or purification processes for production of proteins br/ br/ Supervisory experience br/ br/ BR Consistently cited as a great place to work, we discover, develop, manufacture and market a wide range of vaccines and medicines to address unmet medical needs.
