EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* Requires a 2 year Associates degree in Chemistry or related science from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5-8 years related experience in a regulated laboratory, preferably in a pharmaceutical laboratory environment
* Prefer a Bachelors degree in Chemistry or related science from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 2-4 years related experience in a regulated laboratory, preferably in a pharmaceutical laboratory environment.
* Requires at least two years of experience in the use of complex laboratory instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, UV-VIS and/or IR spectrophotometers.
* An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may substitute.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Analyst repairs and qualifies USP <1058> Category C Instrumentation and associated software in the QC Laboratory and other areas as directed by the Supervisor of Quality Systems. The Analyst analyzes data and develops preliminary conclusions. The Analyst assures individual compliance with the DEA and FDA regulations, cGMPs and applicable department programs, including training, documentation, standard operating procedures, and Abraxis policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Perform qualification, calibration/verification, maintenance, service and change control of USP <1058> Category C Instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, UV-VIS and IR spectrophotometers and associated software.
* Troubleshoot and perform repairs on laboratory equipment as needed.
* Arrange, schedule and monitor calibration events that are performed by outside contractors.
* Maintain instrument records and enter events with data into the Equipment Management Database.
* Assist laboratory personnel with instrument performance issues.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
