Responsibilities Include:
Assist in the set-up and operation of computers and take necessary steps on a day-by-day basis to maximize usage and meet schedules. Maintain reference material and reports in accordance with established procedure or as directed.

WORKING PROCEDURE AND/OR RESPONSIBILITY ASSIGNED:
PERFORM WORK OF EQUAL OR LOWER SKILL LEVEL AS REQUIRED.

1. Assist in the set up and operate computer, auxiliary and peripheral equipment in accordance with internal operating standards to test and run programs.

2. Modify existing computer programs and/or write simple programs, in the appropriate language, as required t facilitate processing due to changes, modifications. Provide users information describing charges assisted for use of facilities and equipment.

3. Review simple problems requiring application of programming logic and computer operating techniques t determine appropriate machine language and equipment for solution.

4. Perform numerical calculations following formulae or simple algebraic equations.

5. Record input information on forms preparatory to submitting problems to computer equipment. Binds and files output data.

6. Demonstrate knowledge of a computer, auxiliary, and peripheral equipment and programming techniques to provide technical assistance to users of the facility.

7. Under guidance of higher classified personnel, maintain computer file, assign account numbers, computer ID numbers and passwords; distribute computer documents upon request; bind and file output data.

8. Purge files, records, computer tapes and catalogues in accordance with established procedure.

9. May assist in the development of disposal and storage procedure.

Specific Desired Skills High school graduate or the equivalent. In addition, completion of one year post high school in a technical or computer curriculum.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
A total two years related work with a minimum of one year as a Computer Technician D.
