Job Description

LOCATIO WILL BE IN KANNAPOLIS, NC

This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and construction of various types of custom electronic (RF, power, control) systems for MRI Coils. Application of practical, hands-on technical knowledge to solve unique, complex problems. Replaces components, wires circuits, and repairs electronic equipment. Integration of electronic equipment with mechanical systems. Troubleshooting of systems composed of both electrical and mechanical components; exercises independent judgment and creativity in performing assigned tasks. Assists in the design and documentation of projects and equipment. Performs tests using common instruments such as digital multi meters, signal generators, frequency synthesizers, oscilloscopes, and power meters. Aids in the construction of RF coils for use with large electro-magnets Works with vendors to order key components from suppliers.

Graduate of an accredited program. Associate Degree in Applied Science of Technology or equivalent two-year vocational or military education. Work experience: Three years minimum experience in biomedical electronics required. Experience: US Navy Phased Array Antenna systems experience preferred. Experience with implementing radio frequency (RF) electronics preferred. Experience with MRI/EPR coil fabrication or instrumentation preferred. Experience in the design, construction and repair of electronic, electrical, mechanical and/or optical equipment is required. Ability to operate common hand tools, multi meter, oscilloscope, power supplies, AC & CD, soldering equipment, personal computer, precision measuring devices, hand drill, drill press, & lathe desired. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to successfully apply customer satisfaction standards. Effective oral and written communication skills. High level of technical expertise on clinical equipment systems. Ability to utilize and interpret technical service manuals and/or documentation.
