Incorporated as a 501C3 not-for-profit organization, National Industries for the Blind (NIB) enhances the opportunities for economic and personal independence of persons who are blind, primarily through creating, sustaining and improving employment. NIB operates under the Javits-Wagner-O''Day (JWOD) Act, a mandatory federal purchasing program, enabling people who are blind to work and provide products and services to federal and commercial customers.
By harnessing the demand and purchasing power of the federal government, NIB and its associated agencies supply federal markets with a selection of more than 3,000 quality products and services under the trade name SKILCRAFT® manufactured and provided by people who are blind at more than 80 associated agencies, across the nation.
Currently, NIB is searching for a Graphics Communications Coordinator, who works closely with the Graphic Communications Manager in the development of collateral and advertising material
Job Requirements:
Education
Bachelors degree in marketing communications, business communications, graphics design or related field, or equivalent experience in marketing communications, graphics design and project planning support functions.
Training and Specialized Knowledge
Excellent computer skills Microsoft Word, Excel, Quark Xpress, Photoshop, Illustrator.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Must be detail oriented and organized to handle multiple projects at one time.
Experience
Three years related experience.
Travel
None.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
1. Oversees and tracks production of graphic communications projects. This includes proactively monitoring deadlines and work flow.
2. Executes graphic communications projects as assigned. Communicates progress and requests approvals from stakeholders as required.
3. Coordinates the production of graphic communications projects, monitors project deadlines and expenses, and communicates with internal and external stakeholders as required.
4. Tracks Graphics Communications and other project expenditures against budget. Researches and obtains vendor bids, consultant costs, and other expenditures.
5. Creates and distributes graphic communications project status reports and maintains graphic communications project files, both hard and electronic.
6. Proofread collateral materials and, as requested, catalogs including, the AbilityOne Catalog for accuracy and content.
7. Draft internal status reports, maintaining project files and tracking project expenses against estimated costs.
8. Maintain photo library and fulfill requests for photography.
