This position will be in the Corporate Communications division
within Southern California Edison’s (SCE) External Relations.
The successful candidate will work closely with Nuclear
Organization leadership and will be responsible for developing and
managing integrated internal communication strategies for a variety
of client programs, products, and services. The successful
candidate will provide guidance to clients that increases their
ability to effectively communicate with their workforce, providing
information that engages employees and promotes high quality
performance.
Typical responsibilities will include:
•Effectively directing the rollout of strategic
communications, including overseeing implementation of
communications plans and tools, acting as the day-to-day contact
with clients, and providing experienced counsel to San Onofre
Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) managers and supervisors.
•In conjunction with Nuclear Communications managers,
recommending communications strategies and tactics to clients that
will inform and inspire employees.
•Working closely with SONGS managers and supervisors to ensure
communications strategies, messages, and tactics are aligned with
business objectives.
•Leading the planning and execution of special events,
activities, and tours at SONGS for the education and awareness of
the workforce and leadership and/or the celebration of station
achievements.
•Measuring/validating the effectiveness of communications
plans and using results to fine-tune communications strategies as
needed.
•Taking on additional communications assignments as
needed.
•Maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following
Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
•Performing other responsibilities and duties as
assigned.
Basic Qualification:
•Must have a minimum of four years of professional
communications experience in a corporate communications setting,
public relations agency, or professional news organization
setting.
Job Requirements:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English,
Journalism, Liberal Arts, or a related field or an equivalent
combination of education, training, and experience.
•Typically possesses two or more years of experience leading
cross-functional project teams.
•Demonstrated experience developing and managing communication
initiatives and related materials and strategies.
•Demonstrated experience developing communication materials,
media, and strategies utilizing a variety of communication
channels.
•Demonstrated experience planning and executing special
employee activities or events.
•Demonstrated experience measuring/validating the
effectiveness of communications plans.
•Demonstrated experience consulting with and providing
guidance to clients and leadership.
•Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills,
including proficiency with and experience conforming to AP style to
create and edit written communications.
•Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and Adobe Design Suite.
•Demonstrated ability to follow Edison safety protocols and
safe work practices.
•Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across
relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance
customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately,
execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional
service to internal and external customers.
•Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning,
decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability
to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
•Must demonstrate strong ethics, influence and negotiation,
leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to
effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
