Description:
This position will be in the Compensation Unit within Southern
California Edison’s (SCE) Human Resources Department. The
successful candidate will develop, implement, and administer
compensation programs that are cost-effective and provide strong
competitive positioning for the Company.
Typical responsibilities will include:
•Managing the day-to-day administration of compensation
programs for assigned business units.
•Overseeing and directing the work efforts of compensation
consultants in the execution of recurring processes including job
evaluations and analysis, and the administration of compensation
programs (e.g., Results Sharing, Compensation Review, and Pay
Determination Policy).
•Making employee decisions around hiring, promotion,
termination, and performance by establishing performance
expectations and goals which align with Company objectives.
•Developing employees by providing timely feedback, coaching
and support.
•Providing consultation to Business Units on compensation
issues.
•Meeting with key stakeholders to gather input, identify
needs, and identify solutions, including collaborating with the
business to implement solutions.
•Developing recommendations on improvements to compensation
programs and supporting implementation efforts.
•Providing input to the establishment of the Compensation
Unit's goals.
•Providing input on technology and HRIS requirements to
support the administration of compensation programs and providing
recommendations for modifications to infrastructure (e.g., ePrism,
SAP Compensation Module).
•Creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment
by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols
and safe work practices.
•Performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Basic Qualification:
•Must have at least 2 years of management, supervisory, or
project lead experience, plus at least 2 years of experience in
work related to compensation.
Job Requirements:
•Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of
education, training, and experience.
•Demonstrated experience applying compensation concepts,
practices and procedures.
•Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement,
including identifying recommending and implementing process
improvements.
•Demonstrated experience identifying strategic goals, and
developing and implementing day-to-day activities to achieve those
goals
•Demonstrated experience providing functional direction to
other employees or functioning as a team or project lead.
•Demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence, and motivate
self, your staff, and various stakeholder groups to develop
appropriate compensation solutions for the company, to overcome
obstacles, and to build team cohesion.
•Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze information and
make sound decisions that meet business needs while adhering to
professional guidelines and regulations regarding
compensation.
•Demonstrated ability to prioritize activities, delegate and
monitor the progress of assignments, and hold employees accountable
for results.
•Demonstrated ability to manage talent by selecting staff and
managing employee performance and development by conducting
performance planning and reviews, and coaching employees.
•Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint.
•Must have excellent oral and written communication skills,
and be customer focused, to understand and appropriately respond to
customer’s needs, and facilitate the presentation of
recommendations.
•Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a safety
conscious work environment.
Preferences:
•Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
