Description
McGraw-Hill Higher Education is looking for a Digital Development Editor in their Burr Ridge, Illinois location. The Digital DE position will be responsible for digital content development and creating, maintaining, and managing the execution of content authoring guidelines under the direction of the director of digital content (DODC). They will manage digital authors and the content development process for key titles in accounting and work to assure authors are maintaining schedules and executing authoring standards.
* Insure the successful, profitable publication of specific assigned digital supplements and digitally driven core products by working closely with developmental editors, supplement authors, vendors, production, and digital.
* Implement market research activities on usability, strengths, weaknesses of current product and make recommendations for improvement across a variety of assigned disciplines.
* Establish/drive schedules for key digital supplements to coordinate with publication of main text; monitor production department activities during the production cycle.
* Establish review process and test item analysis for key revenue discipline based media products and test item files. Develop advisory board for key markets in order to integrate market needs and development into digital publishing process.
* Hire, work with, and monitor vendors, digital authors, technical editors, and proofreaders/accuracy checkers, assigned to the projects.
* Work with Editorial, Production, and Directors of Development to streamline digital supplement processes and procedures. Research and recommend new technologies as needed.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Bachelor''s degree in Accounting preferred. Prefer CPA or equivalent.
* 2 or more years experience in development of educational assessment content / experience teaching accounting also highly desired.
* 2-3 years experience in educational publishing, preferably in either an Editorial or Media role preferred
* Experience in either the production or development of technology or multimedia product.
* Experience in web-based course management systems, specifically using custom tools sets
* Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; knowledge of PowerPoint and Access is a plus.
* Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize work flow is crucial.
* Strong project management skills.
