Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
* Repairs and maintains all electrical equipment and systems in the plant.
* Constructs and maintains preventive maintenance programs for all electrical equipment and systems.
* Gives complete feedback to Supervisors as to the status and operating capabilities of all electrical equipment in their area.
* Works with all Corporate, Mattoon Division and supplier engineers and technicians when installing, troubleshooting and/or maintaining electrical/electronic systems and equipment in plant.
* Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables. Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctioning circuits and calibrates control systems used throughout the plant.
* Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out/tag out rules, arc flash, electrical safety, hearing and eye protection policies.
* Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
* Follow all rules, Operating Procedures (OPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) required by ISO, OSHA, NFPA, and NEC where applicable.
Required Skills
Minimum Requirements:
* Basic Understanding of electrical/electronic theories and principles.
* Understanding of single and three phase A.C. circuits.
* Understanding of A.C. and D.C. motor principles.
* Ability to read electrical schematics
* Good Communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
* Must be able to stand to 11.5 hours with periodic breaks, climb stairs and ladders, and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
* Must be willing to work all shifts
* Must be willing to work overtime as required, including weekends
* Internal Candidates must have received Proficient or better evaluation in 2011 and be in good standing.
Required Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in industrial electricity environment.
* High voltage experience.
* Experience with running conduit.
