Senior Finance Manager- Consolidations and Reporting

This position in Microsoft Corporate Accounting is on the Corporate Accounting & Analysis (“CA&A”) team, which focuses on enhancing and implementing accounting controls and policies, implementing accounting guidance, researching GAAP questions and analyzing and reporting consolidated financial results. This position provides a unique enterprise-wide view of the company from the financial core as well as a great team of experienced professionals with which to work, learn and share. The CA&A team has high visibility to senior-level management and across the business groups. This position will report to the Group Manager of Corporate Accounting.
Primary Accountabilities:
Manage enterprise wide consolidated review and corporate close activities
Drive compilation, review and present monthly/quarterly consolidated balance sheet analyses to the Assistant Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer
Manage the compilation, review, and preparation of the CEO Certification materials
Ensure processes comply with internal control procedures
Prepare and/or review key disclosures for Microsoft’s form 10-K’s and 10-Q’sWork directly with Investor Relations to review various earnings release documents
Manage GAAP channel reporting activities
Collaborate and partner with Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (CFP&A), CLOUD/COGS reporting and Solution Delivery groups related to financial statement hierarchy, restatements, and forecasting items
Serve as single point of corporate contact for a Business Group finance team
Proactively work with Business Groups and other key stakeholders to understand events that may have a significant impact on consolidated financial reporting
Research, respond to, and document accounting issues
Support the development of enhanced systems and processes to improve the close and reporting effectiveness and efficiency
Provide expertise to special projects and other ad hoc requests
Qualifications:
A minimum of 7 years of related work experience, preferably including Public Accounting and CPA or equivalent
BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; Advanced business degree (MBA) a plus
Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting with proven track record in GAAP research and implementation (in high-tech topics is a plus) Required
Superb business partnering and cross-group collaboration skills, including with senior-leveled audiences
Proven strong financial and analytical, written and oral communication skills, and presentation of data skills
Proficiency in Microsoft reporting tools including SAP, Mercury, Alfred a plus
Excellent project management skills
Must be self-starter, highly organized, and able to multi-task
Must be flexible, adaptable, proactive, and work well under pressure
