Responsibilities/Job Description:
The Equipment Analyst Trainee position is a training and developmental position in the Spectra Technician Job Family. The Equipment Analyst position has (4) levels: Trainee, Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3. As a Trainee, the incumbent gains knowledge and experience required to successfully progress in this Technician Family to Level 1 within 2 years of entry into the trainee program.
Under close supervision by Area Management, the incumbent is trained to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations of pipeline compressor equipment relative to the Equipment Analyst discipline. The incumbent will train in the principles of operation and maintenance of reciprocating and rotating compressor equipment. Reciprocating and turbine engine fundamentals and operations. The incumbent will train to setup, calibrate, and operate the engine analyzer and all related diagnostic testing tools, including all software/hardware. The incumbent receives technical direction from the Area Equipment Analyst and the Region Technical staff. Incumbent must work closely with plant personnel, mechanics, other technicians and contract personnel.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
The Equipment Analyst (EA) fundamental responsibility is to collect and trend equipment operating data in order to assess the current and projected mechanical condition of equipment to maintain the future value of the assets. This position will function to support company maintenance programs by providing a systematic, data based tools for predictive and/or risk based maintenance activities. Core functions include:
* Operational/Process Intelligence, specializing in relating equipment health to unit performance and understand the interplay of component health, automation, combustion stability, and emissions.
* Equipment reliability through the monitoring and analyzing of equipment
* Ensure accuracy of unit load according to permit requirements.
* Ensure accuracy of data collection during environmental performance testing.
* Equipment operation is within design parameters (torque, vibration etc.).
* Evaluate ignition system spark plug condition to maintain compliance with NESHAP regulations.
* Nondestructive Testing of Critical fasteners
* Assist with scheduling maintenance prior to equipment failure
* Predictive maintenance
* Failure Analysis, providing historical trends and performance
Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
* Two (2) year Associates Degree in a technical field.
* Certificated education in a related field will be considered.
* Must be adaptable to changing project types and workloads.
* Must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Desired Qualifications:
* Minimum of 2-5 years experience with large natural gas fired engines (Pipeline/Power Plants/otherwise).
Comments:
* Residence Requirements: Live within 30 Miles of Central Regions Nashville, TN office.
* Overnight travel 50-75%
