Title: Principal Electrical Engineer
Job Description:
The Electrical Engineering Department at Aberdeen Proving Ground is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer with strong RF design and analysis skills to join our team in Aberdeen, Maryland. The Principal Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of advanced RF circuitry across much of the VHF, UHF, and SHF spectrum (20 MHz to 20 GHz) for next generation communications and counter communications equipment used by the Department of Defense.
The Department currently supports the military Air Traffic Management product line. The department designs and tests all types of analog/RF electronic hardware including receivers, power amplifiers, synthesizers, power supplies, as well as the subsystems that integrate these components with antennas, RF feeds, and mechanical assemblies. The designs satisfy rigorous specification requirements of Government programs, including the Navy, Army, and Air Force. The Department also performs trade studies and product selection for commercially available components. All designs incorporate Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) techniques including simulation and prototyping to validate the simulations and analyses to develop statistical margins.
Technical leader and contributor in design and development of RF and microwave circuitry and sub-systems for use in military electronics. Lead and contribute to design of RF /Microwave circuits and subsystems by developing performance specifications, simulating, designing circuitry, conducting DMA/DMI and Monte Carlo analysis, prototyping / debugging hardware, qualification testing, and transition to production. Provide engineering support as needed to production line. Additionally, this position will support the development of capture plans and strategies to leverage the Fort Wayne EW capability into the Army IEWS campaign.
