Job Description:
This position is for a Systems Engineer for the Raytheon HPC Center in Maui, Hawaii. The program involves developing, integrating and deploying a myriad of COTS product into an existing and modified environment.
The Senior Network Engineer I will be responsible for the maintenance, design, installation, management, troubleshooting, and documentation for development, test and operational networks in a high performance computer system /storage / network infrastructure. Job requirements include operations and maintenance support to the Mana system at the Maui HPC Center, ensuring system and network security and the high availability of the system and data, installation and upgrading router and switch operating systems and interface drivers, managing and configuring network interfaces, installation and configuration of network monitoring applications and associated equipment, and research and evaluation of network related tools and emerging network technologies. This engineer will work closely with other team members to troubleshoot and resolve problems and support new server and network hardware infrastructures. Support to other MHPCC systems will be required.
Required Skills:
* 6+ years of applicable experience
* Current/Existing TS/SCI/CI Poly clearance
* Experience in network engineering tasks to include hands-on configuration, maintenance and diagnostics
* Familiar with VLANs, load balancing, VPNs, trunking, aggregation and network OSes.
* Skill sets in implementation and support for a COTS network node management products
* Experience with Infiniband technologies
Desired Skills:
* Domain knowledge of existing networks and network security is highly desirable
Required Education (including Major):
B.S. in Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
