Description
Field Engineer responsible for performing facilities alterations, enhancements, maintenance and repair on Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, electrical and structural infrastructures at an OCONUS site. This results-oriented individual will also perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance at other facilities within the country.
Individual can reside anywhere in the U.S.
The qualified candidate requires or has had within the past 24 months a minimum TS SCI security clearance with a Counter Intelligence polygraph. For continued employment the individual must have the ability to obtain a Full Scope/Life Style polygraph. Candidate must be willing to travel OCONUS for up to 90 days which may include hazardous/dangerous locations.
Requirements:
* 6+ years relevant experience
* Facilities and equipment troubleshooting experience on HVAC and/or electrical systems with some working awareness of fire alarm and general infrastructure issues.
* Understanding of OSHA Safety and Health Regulations for construction.
* Working knowledge of chilled water and split-pack air conditioning units, uninterrupted power systems (UPS), voltage regulators and power distribution panels.
* Current TS SCI Security Clearance with CI Polygraph.
* Able to lift 50 pounds independently and heavier weights with assistance.
* Willing to utilize ladders, scaffolds and platforms in performing duties.
* Willingness and ability to pass firearms certification tests and re-certification tests every two years.
Desired Skills:
* Familiarity with Department of State Overseas Building Office requirements and procedures.
* Significant construction project management skills, i.e. budgeting, planning, scheduling and sub-contracting management.
* Knowledge of MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, and Project, plus Lotus Notes.
Required Education (including Major):
* BS/BA or equivalent combination of education and experience (BS degree = 8 additional years of applicable experience).
