Description
Responsible for managing the implementation and advancement of The Coca-Cola Quality System. Collaborates at all levels of the organization to identify and implement opportunities to for performance improvement. Oversee and conduct analysis to ensure that all syrup and packaging leaving the Honolulu Syrup Plant meets the quality standards of The Coca-Cola Company. Conducts and coordinates lab activities to ensure quality and production functions efficiently. Ability to conduct research and evaluation of new laboratory instruments and procedures and to develop procedures as required. Support BMT and plant associates to achieve plant goals and objectives proactively. Be a team-player; identify and resolve problems ethically and efficiently.
Other Functions include:
* Provide leadership and facilitate laboratory activities to effectively and efficiently support production.
* Perform one-on-one training of laboratory technicians for laboratory procedures and water plant operations.
* Assist in other Plant functions as necessary (i.e., backup when other key Plant associates are away from the office and production).
* Perform administrative duties as requested.
* Perform production duties as requested.
Also responsible for program management of water treatment, cleaning and sanitation and good manufacturing processes.
Function Specific Activities:
Provide the framework and tools for ensuring the quality and integrity
of products through the on-going development and refining of The
Coca-Cola Quality System (TCCQS).
Evaluate operations policies, procedures, systems or strategies (e.g.,
products, equipment, packages, materials) against The Coca-Cola Quality
System standards.
Develop implementation strategies, implement, evaluate and/or certify
effective implementation of The Coca-Cola Quality System (TCCQS).
Give direction to and supervise others by offering approaches to be
used and following up to ensure timely and quality execution against
expectations.
Generate, document and execute a plan to select and/or develop
technology (e.g., packaging, tools, processes, equipment, products)
including managing the change control process, in order to meet the
project''s specific objectives (e.g., improve quality, deliver new
products, optimize processes).
Determine training needs, develop tools and communication aids, or
provide training to Company, supplier and bottler personnel to ensure
that the appropriate level of knowledge is transferred to the field to
assist with the effective implementation of each quality initiative.
Identify, prioritize and implement new initiatives or special projects
(e.g., quality programs, sanitation programs) by gathering and
analyzing data (e.g., QI, consumer and customer satisfaction, industry
trends, competitor programs) in order to improve product or information
quality.
Assess technical processes, equipment capability or package
performance (e.g., an improvement in beverage quality and improvement
in asset life) in order to assure delivery of business and customer
requirements.
Conduct customer meetings and business planning or review sessions in
order to gather customer feedback, assess performance against
objectives, understand customer needs or influence the prioritization
and development of quality initiatives (e.g., technology, process,
equipment).
Develop goals, standards and required methods to define appropriate
quality level for project management, including inspection and review
of drawings, functional descriptions, statements of work and output of
providers during the course of construction.
Education:Bachelor''s Degree or equivalent work experience

Technical Skills:
The Coca-Cola Quality System: Knowledge and application of policies,
principles and standards of The Coca-Cola Quality System in order to
ensure consistent quality, protect the Company''s trademarks, promote
customer and consumer satisfaction, and respond to changing business
needs.
Process Management: Knowledge of process definition, flow charting and
process management techniques. Includes knowledge of scale-up from
bench to commercialization and process/formula ingredient interactions.
Ability to establish and define processes, interrelationships, key
controls, and to continuously monitor and improve processes to
facilitate the efficient and effective execution of business
activities.
Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly
processes; includes understanding how design changes will affect these
processes with regards to lead time, resource requirements, acquisition
cost and tooling cost. Knowledge of material handling processes for
moving materials/products throughout the manufacturing and distribution
process.
Quality System Implementation: Ability to apply and implement quality
systems (e.g., ISO, Malcolm Baldridge, Six Sigma and HACCP)and to guide
others in developing and implementing quality systems.
Quality Assurance Principles: Knowledge and application of quality
cost analysis, inspection, corrective action planning, customer and
consumer satisfaction tracking, internal monitoring in order to detect
and correct non-conforming information, materials or processes using
modern quality problem-solving tools.
