Description
Description **THIS INTERNSHIP IS THROUGH THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI. INTERESTED CANDIDATES MUST BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED AT USM.**
Assist the Open Systems teams with installations, configurations, and upgrade tasks as assigned by IT Service Desk requests. Participate in a supportive role by providing in-person troubleshooting and problem solving technical support.
Required Skills
The ideal candidate shall possess some existing level of experience in the following IT Service Desk, Desktop Services, or Networking skill sets:
• Excellent Customer Service
• Ability to work in team environment
• In depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operations Systems and the Microsoft Office Suite
• Technical knowledge of, and ability to troubleshoot, Windows-based workstations and laptops
• Basic knowledge of computer networks and/or network administration
Responsibilities
• Follow established procedures on routine work
• Work under general supervision
• Perform workstation builds
• Troubleshoot hardware issues, workstations, monitors, printers and mobile devices
• Troubleshoot various application issues
• Document procedures and application architectures
