Prerequisites
Bachelors degree in Business or Science; minimum of 5 years sales experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry with Hematology background and experience preferred.
Summary
Celgenes Hematology Oncology Consultants promote Company products and services in the medical community for an assigned geographical area.  We currently seek an experienced individual for a Hematology Oncology Consultant (MDS) position in the Minneapolis area. Territory includes accounts within Minneapolis-St. Paul, Duluth, St. Cloud, Wilmar, Brainerd, all of North Dakota, and through central Wisconsin including Marshfield, Wausau, Antigo, Rhinelander and Eau Claire (approximately 35% travel). The desired candidate will have solid sales experience in hematology/oncology, with a good knowledge of the customer base in this geography. Hematology background and experience preferred, along with a strong track record demonstrating success in sales in the hematology/oncology environment

This individual will have direct one-to-one communication with physicians and health care professionals in support of approved indications; provide assistance in the best application; and analyze records of present and past sales, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to prepare - and implement a comprehensive business plan for territory. The Hematology Oncology Consultant sells to new and present clients - contacting prospects and explaining features and benefits of products offered, while utilizing persuasive sales techniques (all within the boundaries of the Celgene Promotional Policy). This individual will also be responsible for organizing promotional speakers programs in territory in partnership with Speakers Bureau vendor and providing support to customers in the implementation of STEPS and Rev Assist programs.  Estimation of time and expected sales expenses will be submitted to management.

Responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate technical clinical material clearly and
effectively;

2. Ability to develop critical relationships with physicians, nurses and ancillary staff within
academic hospitals, clinics, and private practice facilities;

3. Demonstrated understanding of oncology therapeutic area, products and marketplace;

4. Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare system processes including reimbursement;

5. Strong work ethic, ability to develop priorities and manage time appropriately, integrate
innovative ideas, and work with all members of a team appropriately in order to accomplish
corporate and individual objectives.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

BS in Business or Science;

5+ years sales experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry (ideal candidate will
possess solid sales experience in hematology/oncology, with a good knowledge of the
customer base in this geography);

Hematology background and experience preferred, along with a strong track record
demonstrating success in sales in the hematology/oncology environment;

Proven track record that demonstrates top sales accomplishments;

Ability to travel as required.
