Job Duties
Requires a Ph.D. in organic chemistry, polymer chemistry or materials chemistry.  Well-qualified candidates will have at least two years of experience in the design and synthesis of polymers, block copolymers, and/or organic amphiphiles that self-assemble on the nanometer-scale.  A strong interest in applying these materials to energy conversion applications is also preferred.  This position will require close interaction with physicists and engineers in material design and device development. The research project involves the synthesis and characterization of polymer and small-molecule amphiphiles related to energy conversion applications.  This project is laboratory-intensive and requires experience with a range of techniques for the synthesis of novel organic materials.  Under the direction of R. B. Grubbs and C.T.
