Requires a Ph.D. in nuclear or elementary particle physics.  Experience with both detector hardware and the use of modern computing tools for detector simulation and data analysis is desired, as well as having outstanding credentials in Relativistic Heavy Ion physics. The successful candidate will join the PHENIX group in the Physics Department to do research on the PHENIX experiment at RHIC and will participate in the collection and analysis of data and working on detector operation, maintenance and upgrades, devoting their effort between the two.  Under the direction of D. Morrison, Physics Department.  BNL policy states that Research Associate appointments may be made to those who have received their doctoral degrees within the past five years.
