Description
Assignments given to this individual are more complex with the expectation that assignments are completed with limited supervision and minimal review. Perform detailed computations with limited supervision and minimal review. Majority of assignments are of a design nature, with the balance of responsibilities requiring CAD or other electronic tool skills. Alternatively, incumbent is expected to be an expert in the use of CAD or other electronic tools. When performing production CAD, their responsibilities go beyond drawing preparation as they are expected to layout and develop drawings with only minimal input using general concepts and verbal instructions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities Develop or modify deliverables based on rough sketches, marked-up copies and/or verbal instructions. Develops necessary views, sections and details with minimal supervision. Demonstrate a level of expertise in the performance of job responsibilities and provide guidance to lesser experienced Engineering technicians.
Fully understand project and Company standards and procedures. Performs basic computations such as material quantity estimate, dimensional checks, etc, as assigned. May learn new programs or processes required for assignments. Continuously evaluates methods used to accomplish the CAD or other electronic tools and/or design activities they have been assigned. If this evaluation indicates that a process can be simplified, without sacrificing the integrity of the outcome, it should be discussed with the supervisor for possible implementation. Ensure that the deliverables and the tasks they work on are complete and meet Black and Veatchs QA requirements. Ensure that deliverables are compliant with sketches, marked copies and written or verbal instructions.
Minimum Qualifications Previous engineering work experience.
