Description
Oversee the general functioning of a research group within the Center for Outcomes Research, at the Childrenâ??s Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute that studies patient outcomes, resource use, etiology of outcomes, developing new outcomes measures and new methods for evaluating health care providers. Participates in the development of research grant proposals; manages and staffs research projects, as well as assists in setting priorities within project(s) as determined by the Principal Investigator; Responsible for daily implementation of the research plan, obtaining databases and ensuring their proper utilization and protection. Support the Director of the COR and the Associate Director develop research infrastructure; Reports to Principal Investigator of project and to Associate Director of COR.
Specific tasks include assistance to faculty associated with the COR in the preparation and submission of grant proposals, research budgets, internal reports, preparation and submission of material for the Internal Review Board, and preparation of projectsâ?? progress reports; scheduling project meetings, preparation of materials for the meetings and summarizing proceedings. S/he will review and synthesize professional literature, identify best data sources for the project, negotiate with data providers, and ensure compliance of all COR staff and faculty with all aspects of data confidentiality. In addition this person will serve as liaison with the research administration at CHOP, at Penn and with faculty at both institutions.
The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment with researchers and administrators from several research organizations and from State and Government agencies. S/he will report to the Associate Director of the Center for Outcomes Research.
