Senior Procurement Manager, Technology Services
The Senior Procurement Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing global sourcing strategies services within the Technology group in Microsofts Global Procurement Group (GPG). This includes interfacing with all areas related to category management and procurement, including business groups, finance, IT, and vendor account management teams.
This position reports directly to the Group Manager for Technology
Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy and Execution
Define and implement global sourcing and outsourcing strategies that consolidates and optimizes vendor base and services while ensuring Microsoft the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and access to highest levels of service and technology.
Lead development of category strategy which reflects pricing strategies, supply base rationalization, risk mitigation, and global market and industry analysis.
Assume leadership role in key procurement activities, including RFx development and execution, Statement of Work (SOW) and contract drafting, and pricing and contract negotiations.
Identify, benchmark, and implement best-in-class practices within the category to support the continuous improvement of GPG's sourcing and procurement.
Vendor Management
Actively develop and manage vendor performance using Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and scorecard development, quarterly and/or semi-annual business reviews, Microsoft vendor summits and contract dispute management.
Communication and Collaboration
Understand the needs of internal Microsoft customers and work collectively with them to develop and implement strategies that support those needs.
Coordinate sourcing strategies and initiatives with global counterparts in GPG to ensure optimal benefits to Microsoft.
Industry and Market Expertise
Follow market and technology trends for outsourcing and services. Use this knowledge to support internal customers, reduce costs and develop sourcing strategies.
Evaluate the financial aspects and key cost drivers of the global market using published industry data and internal Microsoft spend data.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years owning and developing a procurement sourcing strategy with a large volume of annual spend in indirect services.
Experience sourcing and negotiating complex contracts for managed and outsourced services
BS/BA degree plus a minimum of five (5) years business experience in the field of procurement, strategic sourcing and contract management. MBA preferred. C.P.M. / APICS / CPIM or other professional certification desirable.
Strong people-management experience
.Technical knowledge/background preferred
Strong analytical skills with the ability to find and analyze data resulting in a focused drive of procurement initiatives.
Proven cross-functional team leadership skills required. Effective working both within a team, as well as independently.
Analytical and strategic problem-solving capabilities in finance, business and technology subjects.
Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong PC experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
