Microsofts Health Solutions Group (HSG) is responsible for developing, selling and supporting products that enable consumers, providers, enterprises, and governments to improve health and wellness. Core to the Health Solutions Groups offerings are the Amalga Unified Intelligence System (UIS), Amalga Hospital Information System (HIS), and the HealthVault consumer health platform

The role will be responsible for driving the strategic financial planning and analysis process, including the businesss long-range financial models, and supporting strong business strategy formulation and execution through advanced financial analysis, modeling and balanced scorecarding. The role will work closely with the Group Finance Manager for Business Insight and CFO, the overall finance team, and a wide range of HSG business partners. It includes responsibility for driving/coordinating business analysis and other key projects associated with optimizing business performance. The role offers a strong mix of financial/operational analysis and project management.
To be successful in this role, this individual will need to:
1. Demonstrate effective strategic and critical thinking,
2. Lead the development and execution of frameworks that identify key performance metrics and translate strategy into financial models to drive effective executive decision making, and
3. Build cross-functional processes and frameworks to effectively track execution against financial models and strategic plans, highlight financial or operational issues that need to be resolved on a timely basis, and drive actions to enable business success.
Success in this role could lead to a variety of exciting business leadership opportunities either in HSG or Microsoft Finance.

Primary responsibilities of the position include:
Financial Analysis and Modeling: support overall business insight finance activities, including the long-range financial model, deployment capacity modeling, all underlying decision support and forecasting modeling, and financial insight and modeling to support M&A and other investment analysis activities. The role will own the identification and modeling of key business value drivers in the development of the overall HSG business model to be used for forecasting and scenario analysis.
Business Insight: Analyze the impact HSG products and services currently delivers and opportunities to grow the business; own the development of analytical models to evaluate new potential business opportunities as well as opportunities to grow existing businesses both through acquisitions and new internal investments; identify ways to optimize the financial performance of the existing business. The work will provide a tremendous opportunity to exercise business modeling, data mining, regression and forecasting skills and will also provide an opportunity to demonstrate strong cross-group collaboration and business partnering skills.
Scorecarding: Partner with the Group Finance Manager for Business Insight and the CFO in defining and driving the HSG balanced scorecard in alignment with the rhythm of the business - work across the team to coordinate the generation of the scorecard and drive processes for the definition, creation and reporting of key performance indicators. Identify best practice data management and reporting formats and setting key planning dates and reporting schedules.
Business Planning: Support annual and ongoing business planning, analysis and reviews. Work closely with the Group Finance Manager for Business Insight to drive planning activities and business execution for the HSG Leadership Team. Coordinate closely with the HSG Controller to align business and financial planning and reporting.
Analytical Projects: Facilitate execution of key strategies and tactics, and participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement and incremental efficiencies for the Finance Team and HSG overall; lead cross-org special projects.

Required skills and experience include:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in advanced financial modeling, planning and analysis or related field, with a preference for a background in healthcare and/or technology.
Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills. Superior modeling skills, strong understanding of finance and accounting, business operational analysis, and effective business scorecarding/performance measurement.
Able to understand complex business strategies and execution plans, formulation of frameworks to enable execution and an ability to translate key themes and tactics into understandable messages for broad consumption.
Strong customer focus/excellent relationship management with key partners.
Significant cross-group coordination, project and process management skills at all levels.
Passion for finding new ways to add value for a young and growing business in a dynamic environment
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build business review materials.
Objectivity
Attention to detail
Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment
High level of motivation, self-starter and drive for results
MBA is optimal, but not required.
