Where there is a formal classroom training program such as with customer service and claims processing jobs, the 12 month period will begin when the employee completes the training program and enters the job on a full time basis
2. In good standing(no disciplinary action and no rating of Needs Improvement on most recent review)

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent and/or technical certifications. Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a degree.
Information Security Industry certification required (e.g. ISC2, GIAC, ISACA).
Requires knowledge of computing systems.
Must have demonstrated ability to analyze and solve logical problems such as may be found in mathematics, statistics, etc.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three years of related work experience in the information security area. Large scale operations experience preferred.
In-depth knowledge of security systems and appliances (e.g. Firewalls).
Basic communication skills to coordinate internal education, interaction with internal areas concerning problem status.
Has used current system software management technology and tools.
DECISION MAKING:
With minimal direction, designs, defines, and installs system components of a major system or subsystem.
Decisions influence operations outside department - especially applications areas.
Recommends alternatives and priorities.
Participates in project planning.
Performs with some technical direction.
Estimates and plans own work ensuring objectives, schedules and cost of assigned segment of project are met.
ANALYTICAL and CREATIVE:
Demonstrate ability to analyze system specifications, requirements, problem reports, system exposures and may be called upon to develop operator education programs.
Analyzes and develops detailed specifications to achieve optimum program and/or system performance within time and cost restraints.
Keeps current with trends and new technologies as it relates to the security area.
Generates ideas for improving work processes.
Monitor and evaluate security environment using host and network intrusion detection systems, firewall tools, network and vulnerability scanners.
Utilize log monitoring and consolidation software.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Information Security Administration Analysis:
Responsible for the analysis and approval of business requirements associated with Information Security systems or processes. Translates security design based on business requirements into functional processes while maintaining controls set forth by Information Security Policy and Procedures. Develop and recommend new or enhanced security and system designs, including documentation of functional specifications for system configuration, to support system requirements as business processes evolve and system enablers are identified.
2. Information Security System Design:
Responsible for the documentation and maintenance of security systems to include change management processes and tracking requests ensuring on-going changes and developments and upgrades to systems are performed. Design and develop tests, document testing results for newly created functionality associated with system maintenance, enhancements and upgrades to ensure all systems changes are successfully implemented.
3. Information Security Technical Architecture:
Plans, researches, designs, analyzes, estimates, determines options, recommends, installs, tests, schedules, implements, administers, documents, monitors, tunes performance and maintains all primary and auxiliary technical architecture across all system platforms as related to assigned areas of specialty to ensure the integrity, security, availability, reliability and performance of corporate computerized systems to meet client needs and expectations.
4. Strategic and Tactical Planning:
Evaluates and recommends new system products across all system platforms and provides information regarding technical architecture to management as needed for developing, monitoring and maintaining IT strategic and tactical plans that conform to the mission, goals and objectives of the organization.
5. Communication:
Demonstrates effective and timely communication to stakeholders, management, teams and vendors as applicable regarding status, issues, project plans, procedures, processes, systems and architecture to meet client needs and expectations.Manages and builds relationships to provide timely assistance and quality technical support to meet needs of clients of computerized systems and to provide positive results with optimal impacts to the organization.
6. Teamwork:
Supports on-call functions as required. Supports and assists teammates in achieving the goals of the organization.
7. Goals
Understands IT Departmental Goals and Objectives and delivers work products to contribute to those goals.
This position reports to Manager, Information Security.
This position is a grade level 15. The starting minimum salary is $5,032.84/mo.
