Job Responsibilities Summary
This position is responsible for the following: Leading and mentoring application staff in the development and/or support of systems applications, typically in support of simple to moderate business functional areas. Working with staff and management to provide simple to complex technical solutions to business requirements. This includes analyzing business requirements, designing and developing technical solutions, testing and implementing the technical solution, conducting walkthroughs, creating technical documentation and communicating status. Providing technical leadership in first-line resolution of complex technical problems. The Lead may provide primary and/or secondary on-call support. The lead is responsible for developing on-call procedures. Leading in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of departmental procedures. Working with staff and customers to estimate and prioritize change requests and defect resolution. Participate with the customer in defining release contents. Delivering moderate to complex technical solutions according to project timelines and budget constraints by utilizing project management tools and methodologies. Providing input to the annual and interim reviews of the application team members regarding performance and development needs. Monitoring changes in Highmark Technical Architecture and tools. Ensure that team members are trained and applications are kept as current as appropriate. This position is required to comply with all Highmark Corporate Policies and ISG Procedures and Standards.
Required Qualifications
A High School Diploma / GED is required.
Five (5) years experience in each of the following is required:
Interfacing with representatives of business process owners
Utilizing a software development life cycle
Mainframe Programming, developing and supporting business applications or database modeling/programming
Preparing project documents, estimates and status reports
Designing Programs
One (1) year experience is required in each of the following:
Managing projects, technical mentoring
Making presentations to small groups
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree
DB2 Certification
Problem solving and issue resolution
Demonstrated leadership experience
High School Diploma with Five (5) years experience in Healthcare or Health Insurance Industry
Experience with Highmark technology platforms, application development tools, business processes, software development life cycle
