Join the GRD/LCA Finance Team as a Group Strategy Finance Manager supporting the Start Up Business Group (SBG) .
SBG looks across the entire spectrum of Microsoft businesses and future opportunities to focus on:
Cross-cutting strategic issues that affect multiple business divisions
Disruptive business trends that may be threats and opportunities to Microsoft
Connecting the strategic thinking done across Microsoft
White space opportunities
Prioritizing investment opportunities
As a Group Strategy Finance Manager, you will be part of a small team of bright and practical thinkers who can frame complex strategic problems to develop clear recommendations; drive effective cross-company teamwork; and present to and discuss recommendations with executives. You are more motivated by thought leadership and impact than team size and process. You want to be part of an organization where the decisions you drive and the scale of investments that we can undertake will impact the world.
Your analytical skills, business insight, and personal persuasiveness will enable you to impact executive decisions about next generation applications and hardware investments to support our integrated home energy information and management business (Hohm) and our Robotics business that will move users to a new computer form factor in the home.
Skills / Requirements:
The successful candidate is a person with strong analytic skills, who has a passion of driving the right business decisions and has the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
A BA in Finance, Accounting or Business
A CPA preferred
An MBA preferred
A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated finance strategy work experience at a high tech company or experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm specializing in corporate strategy, corporate finance and/or corporate mergers and acquisitions.
Inquisitive analytical thinker who is flexible in their thinking
Self-starter with exceptional strategic thought leadership and sound business judgment
Ability to solve complex strategic problems through use of business frameworks
Passionate about doing thorough research with quick turnaround time and attention to detail
