Essential Job Functions
Will be expected to be successful at the collection of delinquent accounts. Telephone contact of delinquent customers for account balance recovery. Knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and how to work within the confines of the act expected. Utilize collection psychology, as it relates to the NYC Regions model. Maintain departmental standards. Attend all meetings in a timely manner. Attend all training sessions. Perform all duties as assigned. Understand, explain, recommend and/or implement management approved fixed payment plans for qualifying customers. Demonstrate complete professionalism at all times, as this job requires you to negotiate payments with our customers and make sure that promised payments are made. Manually soft-disconnect customers who are delinquent. Manually restore services that have been disabled after the appropriate payment has been made. Negotiate immediate credit/debit card payments during inbound collection calls. Maintain current knowledge of departmental and company policies and procesures.
Job Requirements/Qualifications
Must have an Associates Degree or minimum of two years collections/sales experience required. Excellent communication skills, bilingual (Spanish-English) extremely helpful. Be courteous, tactful, informative and represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all times. A clear and concise speaking voice including basic computer knowledge is required.
