Description
The Environmental Services housekeeping aide will perform cleaning functions in the physical environment of the hospital in accordance with prescribed methods in order to provide a clean, safe and attractive environment for patients, guests and staff. He/She will ensure that all their area assignments are performed daily in accordance with State, Local, JCAHO and Departmental standards. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 1. Education: High School diploma, GED or equivalent, will take experience in lieu of diploma. 2. One year of environmental services experience preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED None SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 1. Good physical condition to must be able to walk, stoop, squat, bend , reach, kneel, push and pull items up to forty pounds in the course of an eight hour shift. 2. Must be able to speak and comprehend English. 3. May be required to work extended shifts in case of extenuating circumstances such as natural disaster and in situations in which Hospital Administration considers an emergency.
