Description
We seek a seasoned rotating equipment Upgrades Engineer. Hydraulics and pump experience a plus.
- Provides Engineering and Design expertise in the area of the Upgrades for Rotating Equipment in support of PRO Services, as well as provide support in the area of the Hydraulic & Design review of various Product Lines within the Engineered Products portfolio.
- Work with the various PRO Services Sales Channels in U.S./Canada Market to position future growth in orders, shipments & profits for IPG PRO Services with a primary focus to the HPI and Utility Markets.
- Support the development of PRO Services in the ongoing development & implementation of strategies for PRO Services Engineered Upgrades & Products.
Job Duties:
' Provide technical support to marketing for securing successful projects and engineered upgrades.
' Estimate new upgrade opportunities and develop a quote for customer review and approval.
' Project management of multiple pump upgrade projects.
' Reviewing new jobs for order compliance as described by ISO and Vantage requirements.
' Plan a smooth execution plan for completion of jobs to include engineering design and development, work scope implementation, procurement with continuous ownership for work and final documentation.
' Perform system analysis of existing rotating equipment in the field utilizing ITT monitoring equipment when required.
' Interface with factories as required for information, performance testing, etc.
Experience:
Requirements:
' B.S. Mechanical Engineering Degree.
' P.E. License a Plus.
' Minimum of 10 years experience in rotating equipment industry.
' Pump and system trouble shooting, rotating equipment repair techniques.
' Experience with rotating equipment systems and their analysis.
' Experience with hydraulic design of impellers and volutes/diffusers.
' Experience with mechanical design of rotating equipment, i.e. shaft stress & deflection, L10 life of bearings, wear parts, etc.
' Experience with metallurgy of equipment.
' Experience with packaging layout and design such as base plates, auxiliary piping, lube systems, drivers, etc.
' Experience with AutoCad 2000 and associated software.
' Presentation skills. Negotiation skills.
' Effective communications skills with internal & external customers.
