Description

ITT Corp. - Information Systems, NSTA division, is seeking a High Performance Computing SME. NSTA is an R&D business unit supporting DOD, the Intelligence Community, and government customers nationwide.

Located in Reston, VA, this is an immediate opening and will support the Intelligence community in areas related to geospatial information sciences, photogrammetry, remote sensing, computer vision, and pattern recognition.

This position will continuously monitor the intelligence community (agencies, labs, FFRDs, etc) for work in the following areas and apply to NSG/NGA/GEOINT current requirements.
a.) Use of cluster computing
b.) Use of the Map Reduce algorithm
c.) Use of Hadoop or Bigtable computing techniques
d.) Construction of large cluster machines and their architecture
e.) Use of high speed networking communications (OC48+)
f.) Use of Stream computing
g.) Use of large upstream processing facilities
h.) Application of any of the proceeding to Geospatial data, especially LIDAR, WAPS or FMV data.

Experience Requirements:
This position will require a senior computer professional with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or a closely related field) with 10 or more years of experience in computer design.

Must be experienced in implementing advanced super-computing technology, theory, and design. Thorough understanding of break through computer software/hardware and how they interact and relate to super-computing. Ability to evaluate and intepret end user requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions.

Candidate must have well-developed interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse community environment.

Highly desired is an understanding of NSG/NGA requirements and GEOINT current problems/issues.

Applicants selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and have a current favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) which requires US citizenship.
