Stem Cell Transplantation Quality and Safety Manager

Position Summary:
This position assumes accountability for ensuring ongoing assessment of the stability, reproducibility, and effectiveness of critical processes required for the Stem Cell Transplantation Program (SCTP), as well as efficiency, safety, and achievement of desired patient care outcomes; and maintaining compliance with standards imposed by any regulatory agency related to the Stem Cell Transplantation Program.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Acts as operational chair for the SCTP Quality and Safety Committee in collaboration with the Medical Director of the SCTP, committee Chair-person.
2. Provides administrative oversight for all aspects of the Quality and Safety Plan for the Clinical, Bone Marrow and Therapeutic Apheresis arms of SCTP; with accountability for ensuring effective implementation of said plans; serving as the primary quality communication across all arms of the SCTP to assure consistency between quality and safety policies and activities.
3. Acts as a primary resource for integrating SCTP regulatory requirements into CMH policies, procedures and protocols interfacing as required with CMH committees/councils to promote continuity and continuous progress to achieve and maintain compliance.
4. Provides leadership for quality monitoring, process, data collection, analysis, and reporting to the SCTP Quality & Safety Committee for assessment, recommendations for improvements, and approval of corrective action plans: interfaces with CMH councils/committees for quality compliance as warranted; directly supervises the SCTP Quality Coordinator.
5. Assures integration of SCTP forms development in collaboration with Health Systems Management to assure compliance with applicable CMH policies, protocols and procedures and accreditation requirements.
6. Collaborates with Nursing Clinical Governance Structure to ensure that STCP policies and procedures align with CMH Pediatric Based competencies, policies, procedures, protocols and plans of care.
7. Collaborates with Clinical Education and SCTP Leadership to coordinate education and training of personnel working within the clinical arm of the SCTP.
8. Acts primary link for SCTP for changes in standards, requirements by all regulatory agencies

Requirements
Requirements:
1. Current RN License in the State of Illinois required.
2. Bachelors degree in Nursing along with a minimum of five years Oncology and /or Stem Cell Transplantation nursing experience required.
3. Knowledge of QI principles and tools, and experience with development of policies, procedures and protocols.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 10 hr shifts
