Description

FPL Power Generation Division operates & maintains FPL Group's 30,000 MW Fleet  of non-nuclear generation. The fleet, which continues to grow, includes Thermal, Hydro,Wind and Solar Generation Facilities. Power Generation Technical Services is a team of subject matter experts (SME's) who provide technical support to FPL Group power plants and executive management. Our SME's have years of experience with expertise in plant equipment as well as safety, computer & software technology and environmental management.  A position in Technical Services offers an opportunity to contribute at the corporate level to the operational excellence of our growing fleet of multiple technologies while using advanced applications and processes.

This key position requires the ability to determine, understand and analyze all aspects of heat exchangers (feedwater heaters, condensers and cooling towers) and associated system performance. Execute processes to determine equipment condition and remaining useful life and based on this information predict future required maintenance. Lead root cause analysis of component failures and develop appropriate countermeasures to prevent recurrence. Manage outside vendors that perform required maintenance. Develop repair procedures and specifications. Provide field support for equipment installation and startup. Prepare specifications for new equipment purchases. Perform bid evaluations and engineering reviews of vendor documents and drawing submittals.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (industrial, mechanical or materials) and five (5) years related experience.  Strong analytical skills. Ability to travel throughout US to support plants as required. Professional Engineers license a plus.

Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or a related field and 5+ years related experience.

Work Schedule
M-F, 8:00am to 5:00pm
