Description
The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Computer Science Intern for our Engineering Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Essential Job Functions:
As a member of our development team, the software engineering intern will participate in all facets of our application development lifecycle. These areas include but are not limited to the design, development, testing and debugging of software applications. Our applications are written primarily in Java and deployed on Linux based servers. This 10 week program requires excellent development and communication skills. The intern will report to a member of the engineering staff.
Job functions include but are not limited to:
Read required software documentation to become familiar with the development environment.
Follow the guidelines of the senior development team member to assist with programming required components.
Analyze and interpret test data and try to find the root cause of issues, and resolve them.
Job Requirements:
Top notch computer programming skills in Java.
User knowledge of the Linux operating system.
Significant coursework in Computer Science.
An understanding of object oriented design.
Experience with JBoss, Ant and Perforce a plus.
Preferred Major: Pursuing a BS/MS in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma and currently enrolled in an undergraduate or masters program.
