Purpose:
Mercury is Microsofts worldwide financial reporting and data warehousing solution containing allocated General Ledger data for Microsofts internal and external reporting needs. The goal of the Data Management team is to ensure timely, accurate, accessible, and complete information in Mercury.

As a Business Process Manager on the Mercury Data Management team, you will have the opportunity to work with Corporate & Field Finance, Sales & Marketing, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Corporate Accounting teams to design and implement reporting solutions for all of Microsoft. A Business Process Manager understands the drivers that effect business partners, oversees hierarchy and business rule management, delivers data in a timely and accurate fashion, owns process and audit automation, as well as assists business partners with the definition and implementation of system enhancements. You will be responsible for data management aspects of the application. This includes ensuring the integrity, security, quality, and support of the tools. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage their own resources as well as collaborate with other groups to deliver solutions within tight timeframes. You will identify and implement changes to existing systems and processes to reduce costs associated the delivery of reporting solutions. Because the position requires extensive interaction with other groups, you must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills while maintaining a positive can-do attitude.

Responsibilities:
Ensure integrity of all processes and data in the financial application.
Assist in the fiscal month end close process, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely delivery
Manage operations, including interfaces with various systems up/downstream, and responsibility for daily publish SLAs.
Interface with business owners to assist in the definition, interpretation, and implementation of system enhancements.
Accountable for control compliance to Internal Audit, Corporate Accounting and other internal/external interested parties.
Work with product mgmt, analysis, dev, test, and production support teams to ensure delivery of required enhancements through SDLC.
Ensure all system enhancements meet both business and operations objectives (serviceability, agility and maintainability).
Implement business controls and review audits to ensure data quality.
Team with internal and external business contacts to proactively respond to data and system interface issues.
Serve as Tier 2 for user inquiries about P&L data quality/timeliness.
Challenge existing processes and drive/implement changes as needed.
Provide ad hoc support and solutions as necessary

Qualifications Recommended:
BA/BS in Accounting/Finance/MIS or related field preferred
A minimum of 4 with a preference for 5+ years experience with project management, software development life cycle and/or reading SQL code with a preference for someone with finance and/or accounting knowledge.
Understands Financial Data, Chart of Accounts, and Financial Statements
Operations experience with enterprise financial systems in a multi-national company
Advanced PC Skills (Excel in particular)
Strong communication skills - written, oral, interpersonal
Ability to multi-task and deal effectively with ambiguity
Passion for technology a must
Proven process improvement/automation experience
Experience dealing with conflict in a cross functional environment
Strong problem solving ability and ability to utilize experience to improve processes
High attention to detail and ability to work within stringent deadlines
Good understanding of relational databases, working knowledge of SQL queries/T-SQL
