Description
Manages the function of contracting with hospitals and other providers (i.e. ancillary type providers) for a national or regional organization. Would be expected to have a good understanding and some previous experience working with vendor relationships. Will direct the staff that drafts contracts, conducts negotiations, and ensures the smooth operation and administration of provider agreements. Oversees the preparation, analysis, review, and projection of the financial impact of provider contracts and specific terms. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: strategic positioning for contracting with providers and developing networks in outlying areas and with providers; and overseeing planning for negotiating contracts with physicians, hospitals, and other providers to provide service. Must have a very strong insight on the Budget planning process and previous experience with setting up and directing TMC (total medical cost) initiatives. Bachelors degree required, MBA or MHA required. 7 plus years contracting and negotiating experience involving complex delivery systems and organizations also required.
