The key critical skills desired for the Category Planning Manager are as follows but not limited to:
Function Specific Activities: Provide information to The Company or The Coca-Cola system by communicating local competitive activity, customer feedback/needs, and market place successes in order to assist other Company or Coca-Cola associates in identifying similar customer opportunities.
Analyze and report on business opportunities (e.g., Opportunity Gap analysis), available syndicated services and data sources, and project/activity results in order to advance the TMMC portfolio and enhance business results.
Identify emerging market trends that may impact product distribution, shelving, merchandizing, and pricing in order to develop strategies to increase TMMC's volume opportunities.
Coordinate activities and communications within The Company or Coca-Cola system to ensure the Company speaks with one voice in the messages delivered from various parts of The Company or The Coca-Cola System.
Secure resource commitments from the customer/bottler/distributor/broker/business team and Company or The Coca-Cola Company in order to develop and execute the project plan.
Share information about the industry, segment and customer markets in order to integrate The Company or The Coca-Cola System into the customer planning/problem solving process.
Discuss priority focus area(s) with Company management in order to gain agreement to priorities, access Company resources, and to provide local market input to regional and national priorities.
Confirm your understanding of market levels, brokers and/or customers business needs, issues faced, and opportunities with various customer buyers in order to develop viable business plans and/or solutions.
Analyze potential competitive activities and responses to alternative solutions (e.g., pricing decisions, equipment and marketing programs) in order to refine best alternative solutions and develop contingency plans.
Gather and analyze customer beverage sales data (e.g., brand, package, cup set, package mix, pricing) in order to determine beverage category needs, facilitate marketplace analysis, and determine operational needs. Lives the Values: Demonstrates the values of The Coca-Cola Company through words, actions, and by example; fosters an environment that reflects the values of the company. Technical Skills: Annual Business Plan: Ability to prepare and implement annual business plan for customer/territory.
Category Management: Knowledge of basic category management practices (e.g. merchandising principles share of shelf space consumer and market assessment).
Advancing the Customer Relationship: Ability to facilitate and accelerate the business relationship based upon an understanding of the customer. Includes the ability to actively listen and engage in conversation with customers to uncover relevant information, resources and solutions.
Application of Brand Knowledge: Ability to integrate Coca-Cola brands with customers' brands using brand knowledge.
Connecting Marketing Programming to Customer/Market Opportunity: Ability to determine relevance of national programs to local customers and markets.
Marketing Concept Knowledge: Knowledge of the basic marketing concepts (i.e., brand positioning, brand architecture, SWOT Analysis and competitive strategies to include competitive scope, strategic intent and market share objectives, competitive positioning, strategic posture, segmentation (channels) and competitive strategy).
Marketing Program Knowledge: Knowledge of KO national marketing programs (e.g., NASCAR, Summer 2001 Can, Contour Cup).

* Analyze customer ALB beverage sales data to determine ALB beverage category needs
* Identify emerging trends for ALB recommending product assortment, merchandising and pricing strategies to grow the ALB business
* Analyze competitive activity and recommend responses or alternative solutions
* Consult with the brand and commercialization teams to develop specific customer solutions for ALB brands
* Develop and recommend ALB category solutions working with commercialization teams
* Develop ALB OBPPC plans and ensure sales teams understanding and execution
