Compliance Support Engineer

ITT's brands serving Residential and Commercial Water markets include Goulds Pumps, Lowara, Bell & Gossett, McDonnell & Miller, Vogel, A-C Fire Pump and Flowtronex.
ITT Residential & Commercial Water (RCW) is seeking a Compliance Support Engineer. The Compliance Support Engineer is responsible for insuring that products meet the appropriate compliance requirements, which includes UL, CSA, FM, NSF, IAPMO, and all EU directives.
Responsible for organization and maintenance of all agency related documentation, including product testing and site audits; coordinating agency validation testing for maintenance of Declaration of Conformity documentation, and maintaining the organization informed of standard changes. Work will encompass a wide range of sophisticated product compliance problem resolutions. Uses frequent application of engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Work may also encompass a wide range of sophisticated engineering problem resolutions.
The CSE is a member of the Product Support COE (Center of Excellence) and is responsible for the design and quality for existing products. Activities require providing the highest levels of support to internal customers including marketing, operations, sales, and service as appropriate.
Other duties include but not limited to the following:
' Leads agency compliance projects for products produced in the Americas manufacturing sites.
' Provides guidance and training on agency requirements; responsible for leading agency compliance projects
' Develops methods and techniques to be used for standardization of approach to specific compliance problems.
Prepares technical descriptions of basic designs and engineering estimates for inclusion in bids and proposals or presentations to customers.
' Prepares progress reports relating to assignments as required. Confers with vendors to discuss physical and performance characteristics of proposed parts, components, and equipment for application to assigned equipment. Prepares specifications and design parameters for equipment to be designed and/or built by subcontractors.
' Develop working relationships with regulating agencies such as UL, CSA, FM, NSF, IAPMO, and all other agencies involved with product line
' Provide engineering support to resolve product problems relating to compliance issues
' Coordinate product testing to verify agency compliance.
' Prepare, organize and maintain all documentation related with product testing and agency compliance
' Inform Americas engineering personnel on all compliance directives and changes to standards
' Liaison with other ITT engineering units and departments concerning agency compliance, engineering specifications, testing and any other agency related issue
' Confers with engineering personnel and customer representatives to assure proper consideration of customer and agency requirements. Collaborates with other engineers in order to assure agency compliance
' Analyzes engineering plans and projects to establish operating data and conducts experimental tests; analyzes proposals and related technical data to develop design alternatives
' Develops and implements test procedures while selecting appropriate test instrumentation
' Directs, coordinates and standardizes COE workflows to increase efficiency, reduce possibility of errors, and promote innovative solutions to stakeholders
' Communicate process issues to the organization and contribute ideas for process improvements/innovations
' Provide leadership in the selection of appropriate tools, techniques and methodologies, particularly in their suitability to specific support needs
' Participate in design reviews to provide key input in product drawings, dimensional data, and specifications in relation to product certification
' Establish open and collaborative dialogue with Product Development COE's, marketing, operations and service to maintain awareness on company initiatives, product releases and services projects to best manage impacts on support delivery

Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
Minimum 2 - 4 years experience in the development and support of products in an industrial setting.
Should possess general knowledge of engineering and manufacturing policies and operations, including production control, quality control and industrial engineering. In addition, knowledge of mechanical design, hydraulic design, and rotating equipment is required.
Must have a developed and proficient knowledge and competent understanding of agency compliance, engineering standards, principles and theories to complete engineering tasks assigned. Can explain the technology applications and benefits to a general audience.
Preferred: Knowledge of Mechanical design, Hydraulic design, and Pump Dynamics is required. Fluid Dynamics, Hydronic Heating/Cooling knowledge is desired, but not required. Should possess an ability to interface well with numerous stakeholders and to direct or receive direction from others. Experience with PRO/E is preferred .Knowledge and/or experience of Lean/Six Sigma is a bonus
