Description

Entry level position. Provide courteous and professional teller service to customers.  Complete transactions according to established guidelines; identifies referral opportunities and makes appropriate referrals. Receives formal training and begins to handle face-to-face banking transactions in a branch, including but not limited to processing deposits, withdrawals, payments and balancing.  Follows defined best practices for customer interactions and service.  Works under established procedures.  Incumbent is trained to identify types of financial needs in order to help customers, and may make referrals where appropriate.

Qualifications

Teller 1 - Basic Qualifications:  Previous work-related experience involving face to face interactions with clients and the handling of cash or payment transactions.  Demonstrated basic math and numeric sequencing aptitude.  Willing and able to follow instructions and work under established guidelines.

Teller 1 - Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated potential for successful customer contact work.

Teller 2 - Basic Qualifications:  High school education or equivalent. Mastery of the STI Teller 1 duties or six months of Teller experience at a comparable institution.

Teller 2 - Preferred Qualifications:  Completion of Teller Referrals, Product Knowledge 1 and 2 training.  Knowledge of advanced or complex branch transactions. Knowledge of risk management and loss prevention.

Teller 3 - Basic Qualifications: High school education or equivalent. One year experience as a Teller at STI and completion of Teller Referrals and Product Knowledge 1 and 2 training, or two years comparable experience at a comparable institution.

Teller 3 - Preferred Qualifications: Completion of Platform Basic Functions Training.
