Position Description:
Serve as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) assisting the Information System Security Manager with the implementation of security measures, in accordance with DSS ODAA mandates, regulations and contractor facility procedures. Prepare, maintain, and implement System Security Plans (SSP) or IS Profiles that accurately reflect the security posture of the IS and installation. The ISSO will implement facility procedures including but not limited to : (1) Govern marking, handling, controlling, removing, transporting, sanitizing, reusing, and destroying media and equipment containing classified information (2) The reporting of IS security incidents and initiating, with the approval of the ISSM, protective or corrective measures when a security incident or vulnerability is discovered. (3) Requiring that each IS user sign an acknowledgment of responsibility for the scurity of IS and classified information. (4) Implementing and maintaining security-related software for the detection of malicious code, viruses, and unauthorized intruders, as appropriate. Assist in developing and implementing certification tests as required by the ISSM/CSA. Conduct ongoing security reviews and tests of the IS to periodically verify that security features and operating controls are functional and effective. The ISSO will be responsible for reviewing system audit logs and reporting any anomalies to the ISSM or FSO for further investigation. The ISSO will provide security briefs to users of IS before they are initially allowed to access a system.

Experience Requirements:
Professional Qualifications and Skills:
Operational experience configuring and managing technical security safeguards (group policy) and operational security measures (best business practices for Windows 2003 and 2008 Server (with Active Directory)/XP Pro/Vista. Working knowledge of Linux and UNIX based operating systems. Candidate must be able and willing to collaborate with program personnel to identify security requirements and recommend protection measures to meet customer requirements in a timely manner.
Required Experience
2+ years of general security management and professional computer experience related to the above activities. Familiar with implementing protections and controls in the following Information Systems Manuals: DoD 5220.1-M, Department of Defense National Industrial Information Systems Manuals (NISPOM); JAFAN 6/3, Protecting Special Acccess Program Information within Information Systems; DCID 6/3, Protecting Sensitive Compartmented Information within Information Systems; Department of Energy Classifed Information Systems Security Manual (M 471.2-2). Must be able to obtain a US Security Clearance which requires US citezenship.
