Job Description:
Our client, a major financial institution in San Francisco, CA is searching for a highly-motivated Web Developer 5 to work in the Internet Services Group. This position leads the development and implementation of highly complex internet and intranet applications on one or more diverse platforms.The engineer will work with the development teams to support builds, deployments and integration requirements for applications developed in the PES (Payment Engineering Solutions) group, validate builds/environment in the SIT (System Integration Testing) environment, and facilitate build and system deployments to other environments.
ü Uses advanced knowledge of web technologies, including C++, Java, Java Script, HTML, CGI, XML, Perl, ASP, multimedia applications, database modeling tools and/or database interactions.
ü Evaluates systems specifications for client area web site requirements and determines and implements the most efficient and cost-effective software/package solution.
ü Researches and tracks new web technologies, develops service applications, and analyzes business requirements as they pertain to web-based systems.
ü Responsible for system quality assurance and consistency with installation and security policy and standards.
ü May provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff.
Experience Level: 7-10 years technical background and 5-6 years directly related web experience.
Immediate Assignments:
- Convert ant build scripts to maven 2.0 scripts.
- Design & implement automated database build and deployment. Should have automated backfill capability, that is: connect to DB, identify the release on DB & backfill the DB to the current level. Also should have flexibility to do incremental and baseline DB builds/deployments.
Platform and Skill Set Expertise:
Web Development: Java, Web Development: XML, Web Development: UNIX, Web Development HTML, Web Development: SQL, Web Development: C / C++
Minimum Qualifications:
ü 6+ years technical experience with at least 3+ years of build engineering experience.
ü 3+ years experience in building, deploying and integrating Java-based applications in a UNIX environment is required, including exposure to J2EE architecture (especially BEA Web Logic),
ü Working as the Build Lead with Ant/Maven experience in a large application development setting
ü Expertise in ant & maven scripting
ü Experience in migrating ant scripts to maven 2.0
ü Excellent working knowledge in Unix/Solaris
ü Demonstrated knowledge of SDLC and change control processes
ü Software configuration management experience is required.
ü Build and deployment experience using any version control software (preferably ClearCase)
ü Experience with project concurrency and complex version-control branching models.
ü Willingness to mentor
ü Strong analytical, technical documentation, and excellent business communication skills
Preferred Skills:
ü Experience with AntHillPro, Cruise Control.
ü 2+ years of experience working with BEA Web Logic Administration or Developer level experience.
ü Ability to analyze and troubleshoot in a 3 tier J2EE application environment on UNIX.
ü Experience with Shell and/or Perl scripting
