Description
Easter Seals Southern California is recruiting for a Direct Support Associate (Life Skills Coach II) for our community-based program in Brea (North Orange County). Position gives direct support to adults with physical/mental disabilities, assisting them out in the community. Duties include seeking, securing and maintaining volunteer or paid work for the individuals, building social and learning skills, and personal care. Position is part-time, 30-33 hours per week, Mon-Fri. Rate of pay is $11.00/hour. Benefits include paid holidays off, educational assistance, and paid training. EOE
Minimum qualifications:
1. One year minimum experience working with disabled population
2. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and written, with all levels of staff, the general public, employers and individuals
3. Ability to walk, stand, stoop and push a wheelchair. Ability to lift 70 lbs. repetitively
4. Reliability and dependability, ability to follow directions
5. Must have excellent attendance record
6. Must be outgoing, cheerful, and a real team player
7. Ability to pass a post-offer physical and to obtain fingerprint clearance
8. Must have low-profile vehicle, proof of insurance, valid CDL, registration and good driving record
