Job Summary:

Delivers telecommunication system projects and services, manages risk mitigation, and assesses critical paths and dependencies as it relates to Telecommunications projects managed.  Manages and maintains Telecom contracts, supporting agreements, and related expenses.  Supports ongoing efforts to maintain Telecommunication operating expenses and capital expenditures.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities:

* Plan, coordinate, and track the project activities for initiatives of assigned customer groups. Manage small, medium, and large Telecommunications projects. Assist in planning and organizing resources from across all Technology areas to achieve project objectives.  Establish procedures and processes for project activities.
* Create, monitor, and maintain projects, budgets, and expenditures in corporate management systems. Work closely with Finance and the Program Management Office (PMO) to maintain data accuracy in corporate financial software.
* Ongoing monitoring and management of company wide Telecommunication budgets, expenses, billings, and service delivery from suppliers.
* Coordinate the activities of the project team with other departments, business partners, and vendors. Ensure adherence to CSX standards and review project deliverables.
* Manage project reporting and issue processes. Manage project deliveries including risk mitigation, assessing critical paths and dependencies, and measurement of milestones.
* Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree required
* 5 or more years of supervisory experience required or 5 or more years experience managing/leading Telecommunications/Technology projects/service delivery

Equivalent Minimum Qualifications:

* Associates degree required in Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
* 7 or more years of supervisory experience required or 5 or more years experience managing/leading Telecommunications/Technology projects or service delivery

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to meeting the above qualifications, the following are preferred:

* Bachelors degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering AND more than 5 years experience managing or leading Telecommunications (Voice, Data, & Wireless including radio)/Telecommunications projects/service delivery
* Certifications/Licenses: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)

Knowledge and Skills:

* Knowledge of project management methods
* Knowledge of Railroad Operations
* Project management software skills
* Microsoft  Office skills
* Knowledge of Telecom services cost structures and estimation techniques
* Contract management skills
* Knowledge of Telecom data, voice, and wireless engineering
*

Telecommunications expense management knowledge (contracts, expenditures, and billing)

* Knowledge of system development life cycles and methodologies
* Collaborative and coaching skills
* Written and oral communications skills
* Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
* Ability to create clear visual presentations for business and upper management
*

Vendor management skills and fundamental understanding of outsource agreements/arrangements

Job Requirements:

* 5% travel required.
* May be required to travel to Business Continuity site in support of real or test Disaster Recovery exercises.
* Work hours may include on call 7 days a week, 24 hours per day, with extended periods of time away from home.
* The applicant selected for this position may be required to successfully complete a background check and drug test.  Passing results must be received prior to start date in new position.
