Description
Responsibilities:
* The Electrical Engineer has Responsibility, Accountability and Authority to Support and provide functional leadership and technical support to a portion of the manufacturing and operating units at the Deer Park Refining Company
* The position will focus on ensuring the safe operation,integrity,reliability,and sustainability of the electrical assets in the area supported. Position supports equipment ranging from low voltage thru 35 KV
* While this position is not a supervisory position,it does require strong leadership skills to be successful. Specific job functions include the following
* Production Unit support responsible for the electrical systems utilization equipment
* Provide engineering support to area electrical inspectors in repair of electrical installations
* Ensure compliance with OSHA,company,industrial codes and standards,and internal procedures.
* Participate in,and at times lead root cause analysis teams when electrical equipment is involved
* Help develop turnaround work lists and execution plans
* Lead electrical efforts during plant emergencies and recoveries
* Develop preventative maintenance requirements and plans for electrical equipment
* Maintain awareness of new technology for application in site equipment design,testing,and installations
* Develop and implement long-range plans and infrastructure projects
* Provide design quality assurance for electrical projects in the area supported.
Requirements:
* Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
* Minimum of seven years experience as a discipline Electrical Engineer in a refinery or chemical manufacturing complex
* The following knowledge and skills are required: strong trouble-shooting and analytical skills, knowledge of the National Electric Code, NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in The Work Place), NFPA 70B (Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance) proficient in application of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn other software tools such as databases and drawing packages.
* Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques preferred
