Description

DuPont is looking for several continuous improvement resources for its Washington Works facility.  Located on the banks of the Ohio River near Parkersburg WV, the site employs about 1700 people who manufacture performance polymers and chemicals for automotive and other industrial applications.

The continuous improvement resources include Lean Six Sigma Black Belts, Lean Continuous Improvement Champions, and DuPont Production System (DPS) Experts.  Each of these roles involves engaging other people to help eliminate waste and drive improvement programs.

To fill these roles, DuPont is looking for candidates whose long term desires include operations management or technical careers.

Responsibilities

* Leadership of project teams

* Project planning and implementation strategy development

* Complete lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Continuous Improvement Champion, or DPS Expert training.

* Develop capability, buy-in, and support for the lean continuous improvement culture in the organization.

* Promote the discipline of using data for decision making by applying the lean Six Sigma methodology when implementing changes in the organization.

* Lead change by facilitating events such as Kaizen Events and Value Accelerators and by implementing and applying visual management systems.

* Lead lean Six Sigma improvement projects in support of business objectives and deliver results with hard or soft savings to the Company.

* Lead programs that focus on defect reduction or waste elimination to achieve cost reduction, productivity improvements, process efficiency improvements, yield improvements, uptime improvements, quality improvements, or working capital improvements.

* Ensure responsibilities and controls are in place to sustain improvements.

* Train others in the organization about lean, DPS, and Six Sigma tools.

* Mentor improvement teams and Six Sigma Green Belts.

* Identify business improvement opportunities by analyzing data, gathering voice of customer information, and defining the problem in a lean Six Sigma format.

* Apply lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Day-in-the-Life-Of (DILO), and brainstorming to identify waste and organize/charter improvement teams.

Qualifications

Experience

* 5 years manufacturing experience.

* Green Belt certification and lean training a plus.
