Description
Sears Holdings Management Corporation provides corporate services to Sears Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: SHLD) and its family of companies, including Sears Roebuck and Co. and Kmart Corporation. These positions fully support the Controller, Finance and Merchant organizations related to Vendor Allowance activity, Expense projects, Invoice Scanning and audit of all transactions. This includes monitoring the daily and month end closing activities surrounding vendor allowance collections and reporting. There are numerous regulations (internal&external) concerning vendor allowances. The associate in this position must ensure vendor collections are handled in accordance with all regulations. This position interacts with associates of all levels within our company.Must be able to read and interpret vendor allowance agreements in accordance with Vendor Allowance policy.Ensure all allowance agreements are billed in a timely manner within the closing timeframe.Prepare general ledger adjusting journal entries/accruals to properly report vendor allowances. All journal entries/accruals must be properly supported with the appropriate details.Must ensure that all vendor allowance transactions are reported properly for internal and external reporting.Expense projects are built properly to report expense by Business Unit.Manage workload thoughout each accounting period. Review reporting and communicate as necessary with Finance and Merchant organization to resolve questions and issues.Research and answer vendor inquiriesProvide vendor allowance detail to vendors upon requestResponsible for the audit of vendor allowance agreements including but not limited to: missed item and missed agreement creation. Provide information to buying teams to prevent missed funds not collected from vendors for various reasons.Track and communicate progress of audits with team leader on a timely basis.Ability to move between activities as requested by management.Ability to perform special projects as requested with minimal supervision.Incumbent is required to possess a thorough understanding of general ledger accounting, along with balance sheet accounting.Ability to perform account reconciliation for margin and balance sheet accounts.Communication:Must be able to articulate complex vendor allowance issues to non-financial associatesMust be able to communicate with associates of all levels.Must work well with others in a team setting to deliver high performance resultsMust be able to communicate with vendor representativesFinancial/Analytical/Business Competency: Works with buying teams and controllers to resolve vendor allowance issues with vendors Ability to provide outstanding customer service to business partners Ability to consistently execute processes and procedures required by the business Demonstrates a sense of urgency and decisiveness Complete attention to details Problem solving skills Exhibits a sense of ownership and empowerment Time management, multi-tasking skills and prioritization skills Written and verbal skills to communicate clearly with all levels of the organization .
