Description Job Functions: 1. * Develop business within community * Task Listing 1. Participate in community functions to gain exposure for the mortgage company representative. 2. Develop initial relationships with builders, realtors, professional groups (attorneys, CPAs financial planners, etc.) and bank personnel for future referrals through education on mortgage products and programs. 3. Engage in day to day personal contact to develop future loan opportunities. 4. Maintain relationships with builders, realtors, professional groups (attorneys, CPAs financial planners, etc.)and bank personnel even in times of market recession through constant accessibility and presence. 2. * Originate quality mortgage loans * Task Listing 1. Establish a relationship in order to ascertain specific customer needs to counsel on choosing appropriate loan product through conversation and documentation. 2. Initiate loan application and gather supporting documentation using the Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA-1003) and appropriate governmental disclosures. 3. Organize the documentation in loan file as to streamline process and submit to Hancock Mortgage Central Processing. 4. Enter information from application and supporting documentation into MortgageWare system and print disclosure package for customer signature. 5. Work with processors to keep the applicant and all related parties advised of the status of the application in a timely manner. 6. Coordinate lock-in procedure with customer and lock-in department. 7. Monitor loan approvals to ensure all conditions have been met along with the coordination of the closing with the applicant, realtor, attorneys and closing department. 8. Keep abreast of ever-changing developments of mortgage industry. 3. Manage operational responsibilities Task Listing 1. Continuously monitor loan pipeline and update loan processors as to loan status. 2. File monthly reports on an as needed basis to loan production manager. 3. Attend monthly meetings as called for by the production manager. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing using the English language Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures required for this position Ability to use computers to input and export data used for loan approval. Ability to communicate with others through e-mail and memo correspondence. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Internet usage. Knowledge of mortgage lending compliance and regulations. Basic knowledge of or the ability to learn mortgage programs Hancock Bank and Hancock Mortgage. Ability to communicate and interact well with very diverse groups of people. Analytical skills used to propose alternative solutions for problems with loan approval. Ability to use time management skills and coping skills to effectively deal with stressful situations. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Ability to apply techniques of negotiation and persuasion. Ability to operate financial calculator to compute payments, terms, loan to values, debt ratios, etc. Ability to work flexible and extended work hours.
