Description Summary Overall responsibility for credit policy and analysis of commercial loan portfolio activities of department in all states by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Incumbent will maintain a large focus on Commercial Real Estate.
Management responsibility for activities of all Regional Credit Officers to include Credit Policy and Analysis issues
Approves or declines loan requests above the concurrent level to the banks house limit; above that amount, makes recommendation to the Credit Committee
Provides input on policy changes to the Chief Credit Officer and administers the Credit Policy in approval decisions and through oversight of the Regional Credit Officers and the administration of their portfolios.
Provides feedback to assist in the training and directing of Credit Analysts in their role of preparing credit proposals, risk assessment, analysis of financial information and credit review
Participates in assessment meetings on the quality and status of loan portfolios and uses the results in the Regional Credit Officers evaluations
Prepares annual budget and manpower planning for the Credit Department and reviews with the Chief Credit Officer
Reviews expense reports monthly
Develops and recommends plans for expansion of existing programs, operations or credit activities
Solicits new business and participates in community or other service programs to develop goodwill
Analyzes and complies with government laws and regulations.

Education and/or Experience
Master''s degree or equivalent in the field of Finance; at least ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents; Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints; Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style; Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems; Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases; Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
Computer Skills
Ability to learn or knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint; Ability to learn or knowledge of Outlook email program

Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages five subordinate supervisors who supervise many employees in the all of the regional credit departments; responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization''s policies and applicable laws.
